Lesson 110: Read Me Renewed

We’ve made it to the end of yet another year where, despite all of the volatility and market driven headlines, the Canadian TSX and American S&P500 produced double digit returns for the third consecutive year. It can be debated whether the rise in indices is warranted given the bubble in tech and AI related stocks suggested by many finance talking heads, or the extent of the disconnect between index performances and the health of the real economy. But this year was a perfect example of why having an autopilot mindset with your investments, and having regular contributions to your investments, will work wonderfully in the face of uncertainty. Having this autopilot approach will always help you avoid emotional decision making both on the up and on the down market movements, and allow for your money and investments to work for you in the background while you enjoy living your life.

Similar to what I did way back in Lesson 29 Read Me where I listed several of my favorite finance & investing related books at the time, I thought that a fun way to wrap up 2025 would be to highlight several people & platforms that I follow for finance and investing news and knowledge. Some of these you may have heard of, but others are lesser known and offer very real down-to-earth views on the economy and money decision making strategies that resonate with most people.
