Lesson 1: Make Cents Make Sense

The world of money management and finance can be a pretty overwhelming world, especially for someone who is newly exploring this realm. From spending money to saving money, the idea of one day being financially independent can seem like a pretty daunting task. However, with a few tools and lessons under your belt, along with patience and discipline, achieving what may first seemed like a far fetched financial goal by retirement can now be easily realized.

What's the magic dollar figure? Everyone has a different definition of financial independence. However, the phrase "live within your means" can be linearly applied to every individual. We all come from different backgrounds and many of us are in different current financial situations.  We all still have the capability and choice of ensuring that we follow one simple rule: spend less than you earn.

Although this may seem like such a simple rule, many of us struggle with this on a day to day basis. Others who are able to spend less than they earn may not be aware of the many opportunities out there to grow that pot of savings over a long period of time while continuously contributing to that same pot of savings.

Whether you are starting to save money for the first time, or you are an experienced public equities investor, I hope this blog is able to help make sense of the many techniques and tools to exploit the opportunity to retire comfortably and reach that far fetched financial goal that you once thought was impossible to attain.

Let's begin the journey. Let's make sense of making cents (and dollars of course)!
